A number of regional employers could go for Gold – the top award – in this year’s Defence Employer Recognition Scheme.
The interested organisations have put in expressions of interest in applying for a Gold Award with the deadline for final submissions due on March 16.
Hopes for bumper year
“Yorkshire and the Humber had eight Gold Award winners last year and it would be great to continue to build on our 21 regional gold award holders this time round,” said head of engagement Phil Walton.
“If we get as many final submissions as predicted we’re hoping for a bumper year as plans are already taking shape for rewarding the winners with a unique celebration event this autumn.”

Awarding board
The deadline for applications for a Silver Award is on 13 April and a Regional Awarding Board will be convened to ensure the submissions are scrutinised on behalf of the Ministry of Defence before the awards are announced in the summer.
The Silver Award celebrations are currently planned to take place on 6 October with a venue to be confirmed while the Gold Award presentations will be held in November.
